CounterPoint

The art of composing two or more melodies to be sung together.

​

There are rules of counterpoint that were widely observed, and from those rules music theory has originated.

​

We will begin learning counterpoint by studying the first species, or one note against one note.

​

In this method, a line of music is given and a second line is written against it, observing the rules for the purpose of creating beautful and meaningful music.
