RICHARD TREAT - Cello







Cellist Richard Treat was born in Pasadena CA and studied at California State University, Los Angeles with Eleonore Schoenfeld and Lucien Laporte. Richard was a member of the Pacific Symphony and served as Principal Cellist of the Santa Barbara Symphony and Oprea Pacific Orchestra. He was also a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and worked regularly in the recording industry in Hollywood.  Richard was Professor of Cello at Chapman University and guest cello instructor at University of California, Irvine. He is a founding faculty member of the Max Aronoff Viola Institute and the Camerata Northwest in Seattle and was Professor of Cello at Pacific Lutheran University.



JOHN SCANLON - Viola






Violist John Scanlon is a native of Boston Massachusetts. He studied with Atar Arad, Donald McInnes and Heiichiro Ohyama and participated in festivals such as Tanglewood, Banff and the Menuhin Academy in Gstaad. John has been a member of the Florida Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Los Angeles opera orchestra. As a freelancer in Los Angeles he played for pop artists and television programs as well as over 450 film scores. He was a frequent sub with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra and currently subs with the Oregon Symphony. John was also instructor of Viola and Director of instrumental chamber music at the University of California, Irvine.
